The vitreous body is the jelly-like fluid inside the eye. The degeneration of the vitreous body can lead to eye floaters (also known as 'mouches volantes' from the French meaning flying flies) which are perceptible spots, specks or thread-like structures in the field of vision. Eye floaters are caused by collagen fibres clumping together in the vitreous body of the eye and casting shadows on the retina.

The composition of VitroCap N is based on the increased need for specific nutrients in people with degeneration of the vitreous body who have eye floaters.
